anyone know about hot start problems??

The car is mostly stock and will start perfectly when cold, but when hot it will crank almost run then die down. If you tap the gas a couple of times it will keep running though it will start alittle low on the rpms then work its way up. I really think it is the fuel pressure regulator but has anyone had this problem before??

That doesn't sound like a bad FPR. Intake leaks, a failing fuel pump, bad ECT sensor are more credible possibilities.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had a no hot start problem on my M20, it was the Fuel pressure reg.

Pull the vacuum hose off the top of the regulator and smell it, if it even hints the smell of gasoline the regulator diaphragm has probably torn and the engine is flooding.
Also if gasoline comes out of the regulator vac hose with the engine turning over then you can be sure its the reg.

I remember when trying to start my engine it wouldnt start but while it was turning over you could smell the gasoline, then I pulled off the reg. vac. hose and bobs ur uncle fuel came out.

ya know my car does this sometimes. i ran inside some place. waited for my food to finish cooking, got it to go and hopped back in my car. it didnt have enough time to cool down but when i went to start it it just kept cranking till i gave the throttle a little tap and it started right up. idled fine but it does this often. i wonder if its my fpr

can i just get an adjustable one instead.lol
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.
