    Aux Fan Test?

So I am doing a general revamp of my cooling system. And I wanted to know how I test the front auxiliary fan? I checked the bentley and didnt quite understand it. Help me out? Danke

there are two thermo switches on the radiator. if you take of the leads and connect each 2 wires you will be testing the high/low functionality. Sometimes the switches go bad and the aux fan won't work, but the A/C should turn it on low.

you can unplug the fan from the drivers side-in front of the headlights. the wire loom runs through there. This by-passes the thermo switch on the rad so that you can test just the aux fan. Can run direct 12v power and it should turn on. One is low speed and one is high. If you aren't getting the fan to work when plugged in it may be your fan resistor.

however, before you do anything. start by first spinning the fan blade to see if the fan isn't seized. if she spins that is a good sign. then test from the thermo switch, resistor and finally the plug if you have problems.

simple answer, assuming your ac button works, go push it. if the light turns blue your fan will cut on. if it doesnt then u need a resistor. after the resistor if your car still overheats when sitting for long periods, then you need the temp sensor which screws into the side of the radiator
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.
