I put a new fuel pump on my car. The next day I was leaving school and I was going down the road and my car just died. I talked to a Bmw mechanic and he told to me to check fuse 11 and there was no power to it so I changed the fuse still no power. I took fuel pump out and noticed it was clogged from rust. So I towed it home dropped the tank and sealed it bought a new walbro 255. I was just wondering what could be the cause of no power to fuse 11. Its an 88 325i. Thanks.

You can only check for power to fuse 11 while the engine is cranking or if you jumper the fuel pump relay socket. The relay is controlled by the DME and only engaged when the DME sees timing data from a rotating engine. No power to the fuse 11 when cranking will be from a bad fuel pump relay, no timing data to the DME (bad CPS), no power to the DME (bad main relay or fusible link) or bad DME ground, no start signal to the DME (ignition switch or bad C101), damaged engine harness or C101 connector, or a bad DME.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
