    Ahhhh Please Help

    hey everyone,

i have a 1988 325. I couldnt get the thing started when i got it, , and replaced pretty much everything, ignition coil, spark plug, cap and rotor, and even rebuilt the head, and it wont start, and to make matters worse.....there is GASOLINE coming out of the air filter. (just like it was when i first got the car :hitler:) I think it has something to do with an electrical system but i have no idea what the deal is. Any insight would be appreciated! thanks!

Did you mix up the fuel and vacuum lines?

An 88 325 doesn't have a cold start valve so a failure there can'r result in fuel in the intake. In which case fuel in the intake would be coming from the injectors. That could mean that the rail fuel pressure is way too high, the injectors are leaking the FPR is bad, the engine timing is wrong, the injectors are grounded out by a bad engine harness, or that the DME is bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

hahaha no i did not mix up the fuel and vacuum lines.....and alrighty, well im going to assume that the DME went bad, or the injectors are grounded by a bad harness. I know the timing is perfect, the injectors arent leaking, the fuel rail pressure is stock, just using the stock fuel system set up, no aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.

Where are all the grounds that i should check located?

Is there anything else it could be?

There's a guy on another thread, and people are saying it could be the CPS, could that possibly be the case for my car as well?
