Broken Rocker arm = no start?

I bought an 89 325iC with unknown mileage(odo stopped at 160k). The car had been sitting for 8 months. The car wouldn't start, I was only getting spark on plug #6. Anyway, will the broken rocker arm prevent the car from starting or is there more wrong?

Only getting spark on cylinder 6 and a broken rocker arm makes me suspect a broken timing belt. That will certainly prevent the engine from starting.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I second what Jim said. Sounds like the rotor is pointed at the pickup for the number 6 wire on the distributor cap. I'd pull the timing cover and see if the belt is broken.

Okay, So i took the dizzy cap, rotor button and dust cover off and peeked in there, the timing belt is completely off.

There you have it. The next step is to pull the head and see how damage occurred. At the least there will be bent valves.
