    My m20 motor clicking noise

My m20 motor makes a loud clicking noise when its idle and driving. is that normal? I know most BMWs make that noise, but this is loud and annoying. Any info about it?

It is normal. There are probably hundreds of these threads on here.

Valve adjustment might quiet it down, might not.

You'll learn to love that sound...or just turn up your music

my first couple cars were Japanese motors (mr2 mkII and ep3) so they were extremely quiet engines. When I bought my e30, I loved the actual sound of an engine. I love the "loppy" sounding idle and clicking of the engine.

Yeah its nice i love my e30. but Like the guy above me said, valve adjustment could quiet it down. its a lot louder than other m20 motors i have heard.
