m20 turns over but doesnt start

So one day after getting off the interstate i noticed my engine sounded way louder than normal (valve ticking noise) and i made it to bwws and decided to get a meal before i got it towed home. I made it like 100 ft after the meal before it sputtered and died, so i had it towed. I did a valve adjustment, replaced the crank positioning sensor, checked the fuel pump and changed the fuel filter to try and fix the problem, sure enough it still doesnt work..

Heres a video of what it sounds like.

Every once and awhile i hear a pop out of the exhaust too that isnt shown in the video.

    Thanks!

Sounds like very low compression, have you done a compression test? Were any of your valves extra loose when you adjusted them?

Im guessing you have bent valves etc. Do a compression test.

Likely culprit: timing belt too loose/missing teeth or broken completely.
