Smoke coming from alternator and starter!

So I'm finally at the last step finishing my super eta project and I have spent my whole day off plugging everything back together I charged the battery and put all the fluids back in her went to crank it over first time in 7 months and nothing the starter clicked sounded like it was engaging or trying to and I noticed smoke coming from the alternator and the starter any tips or suggestions why that could be the darn thing started on the same starter prior to the rebuild on the same starter and never had problems WTF

sounds like you have a short to ground. does it smoke when you have the key in the on position or start position

Start I checked The wires I have them on right

find out what wires on the starter you hooked up wrong. just post a pic or look for the burnt wire.

Did you disconnect the wires at the front battery terminal by chance? The one up by the battery tray, where the rear cable connects to the engine harness...triple check your work there, let me know if it kicks your ass, I will try and help.

Well sorry guys I haven't posted it's been rough the last couple of days I wanna jump into the car but all I can do is look at it with my situation I'll give it a go tonight though

can you turn the motor over by hand, is it possible somehow your motor is locked up and the starter is just trying to turn over a stuck engine?

It turns over but I found out I had under a hundred cca from the battery lol whew problem adverted thanks guys problem solved gonna get my starter tested at work so I don't end up stuck in the rain somewhere next project is ds rocker panel fender to rear quarter wow what a pain that's gonna be
