    Oil filter housing. help plz

I recently purchased a 89 325i and the oil filter housing needs to be replaced. one of the cooler line inlets on the housing is broken. does anybody know where I can get this part that wont charge me an arm and a leg? i've checked junk yards no bueno

also would it be safe to remove the filter housing and just run it so the filter connects straight to the block?

What models/years had the filter housing like i need. the part i need is number 3

Go to parts wanted section and post, you'll probably get a response quick.
I think all 325i's have part #3. The eta engines did not come with the oil cooler so the filter attaches directly to the block.

You can use part 11112140435 to attach the filter directly to the block. It shouldn't be that hard to find a used oil filter adapter at a salvage yard.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

No. On a street car the cooler isn't necessary. There are Spec E30 racers that don't run a cooler and they aren't having an oil temp issues.
