bad ground?

    Well the tach needle is still true to the rpms. The rpms bounce around as much as the needle.

    I would try to take a video of what it does but i can't just make this happen on command. It just does this whenever it feels like it I guess lol

        I will swap in a new coil tomorrow to see if that fixes anything

            well I replaced the coil and it hasn't done anything since. So I'm guessing it is the coil. I've just been hesitant to update this because I'm sure the second i SAY i fixed it, it's going to happen again. It's the E30 way!
