    Stripped connecting rod bolt. HELP

I have two bolts that are stuck. I destroyed the tread on trying to remove it with vice grips. I am at a loss, can someone help me out?

well, it goes without saying that you're gonna need new bolts anyway - so what you can try to do is either use a bolt extractor on them, or cut a slit across the top of the head of the bolts wide enough to jam a beefy flathead screwdriver in there horizontally and then just add leverage (a pipe, jackhandle, etc) to get a good turn on them..
    good luck, man..
    Make the bastard chase you.

How the hell does this happen? Not using the correct torx?

I would weld a nut to the head of the bolt and use a breaker bar.

That is a good question MR325. The rest of the bolts seemed to agree with the torx socket I was using. There is always one isn't there.

I don't have any welding gear available at the moment. But that's a good idea.

Well I wound up grinding the bolt flat on two sides and using vice grips and heat. She's out. Thanks for the suggestions though.
