Dirty Injector Tips - Just a Bad Seal???

While redoing my intake manifold gaskets, I decided to clean everything up. My injectors came out looking extremely dirty. Everything around the fuel injectors was really dirty as well, so this looks like it was just a bad seal. There was also one injector head that looked a little melted on the tips (which I didn't take a picture of). I just want to make sure it isn't something more than a bad seal.

What bothered me was that the little orange tips was very slightly melted on another injector. Could it be the timing is off maybe slightly or am I just worrying about nothing?

I dunno what to make of the melted part, but all that just looks like carbon buildup.

okay. Just that was a whole lot compared to what I'm used to seeing on cars.
