Ignition Upgrade? Refresh? Ideas?

    Ignition Upgrade? Refresh? Ideas?

    1st off, both battery and spark plugs are new last 3 months. Distributer cap and wires look good, but no idea of age.
    Now, I do a lot of stop and go daily driving and I feel my ignition does not appreciate it. I do B2B sales, (I do have new car to use but prefer the E30) so I am constantly starting and cutting off my engine.
    Someone told me to get MSD, but I can not find an application for the M20.
    Should I replace with all new oem, or upgrade with MSD.
    What should I replace or upgrade?

    Replace the ignition wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Use NGK ZGR5A plugs. That is as good as it gets on a stock engine.

        I ran the NGK ZGR5A and honestly after going back to my BOSCH WR8LC Plugs my car loves its self a bit more. Just a personal opinion though. I run the ZGR5A's in my honda, but not my m20. Agree with replacing or overhauling your ignition system as a good as well as cheap maintenance that can have an astounding effect on how your car runs (night and day). :)

          I suppose the plug preference could be somewhat engine specific. But in dyno sessions I saw a definite improvement in the NGK plugs over the Bosch. And a bit more from Autolite AR53 racing plugs. The Autolite plugs are a bit on the cold side for a street car, but work great in race conditions.

            You could goto a wasted spark setup..?

              I ran an MSD 6A to help prevent blowout on my turbo setup...just don't. They're super noisy (my radio had permanent noise), and will provide no benefit on an otherwise stock engine.
