    Any tips on swapping heads

Hi new member here doing the "stroker" kit tonigh

Lil background here; had all mods on GTI and I wreck, needeing a commuter car I got an ETA since I always liked the E30's well I found out it was a Super ETA and I got the gofast bug again!

    88 SETA

    I have :
    "I" head
    ECU with Dinan chip
    17 lbs injectors
    M30 FMA/ MAF?!
    timing belt kit
    head gasket kit.....Victor Reinz

is there an issue with the Reinz gasket? do they all leak? I was once told to add copper spray on the head gasket for my VR6.. will this help on the leaking issue iwth my E30?

any other tips?... we are probably going to try doing it tonigh for the BMW meet in Milpitas on Friday... I got to keep up with my friends s52 and modded 325I...ok maybe the 325I only hahah

I've never seen a used head that didn't have enough warp to justify at least a minimal surfacing cut. And before I'd install a used head I'd have the valves ground, check the guides/cam/rockers for wear, and replace the seals.

I've used the Reinz gasket a number of times on Spec E30 engines and not had a problem. But others have had problems and swear by the BMW OE gasket.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I've had a oil leak with my Rienz head gasket. I recommend a Grotze (I think that's how it's spelled). All other gaskets are fine to be V-Rienz

And def use new head bolts. Might as well get a new water pump while its all apart if it looks remotely old.

To make a 2.7i make sure you use a b25 intake manifold, throttle and air boot. Don't bother with an m30 AFM, just use a known good one from a m20b25
