    Engine Hesitates

I've been going through these threads the last few days and I couldn't find the answer, so I'm just going to ask it.

My car is having a massive power lag lately. I don't know what it can be. When I take off normally its fine but once I get to 2,000 RPMs the engine doesn't want to go unless I pump on the gas pedal once or twice and the power will kick in. I've been told the AFM goes bad on these cars a lot and I picked one up today, which ill be installating tomorrow. I'm thinking it might be my fuel injectors as well but I'm not sure. Any other info in the right direction would be appreciated. My car's a 1986 325 BTW. :curse:

Fuel filter or throttle position sensor are my guess

That would make me think of a bad spot in the resistance trace in the AFM.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Well, I'm going to replace the AFM right now and see what it does. I'll update this later with the results.

Changed it, it got some more power but still has a slight hesitation. I'm going to order a Fuel filter off of Pelican Parts and see what it does.

Run the fuel system tests in the Bentley manual. The filter probably needs to be changed, but you could have a weak pump or a bad FPR.

I ended up buying a fuel filter at Autozone. I'll install it tomorrow morning cause I have work in a bit. I don't know what that fuel system test is but I'll look it up in a bit.
