    Alternative Pic Wires for MAF

Yes, I read the miller manual and I have searched and cant figure out why my car is running so bad.
I do not have a voltemeter to test, but Im thinking at this point I either solder the wrong 2 wires, or did a bad solder job. This was my 1st attempt to solder, is it possible to do it bad? Any ideas, help thanks.
I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

There is more than one white wire in the ECU wiring loom, the wrong one obviously wont work well. From memory it is the thickest white wire.

I made this mistake as checking the PIN/wire numbers wasnt easy with them all twisting around each other.

Since the war room was shut down, the best way to get technical help is to message them through their facebook page. That info is from Brody himself.

Ok, so I retraced and counted amd foud the correct pins. I had the correct wires. I tidied up my solder job and will try again. I also went and bought a voltemeter to test. But, I am really thinking The chip I was sent was for stock injectors, not my 19#'s. will keep posted.

I have the same setup, also on an '89.

Did you unwrap the harness at all? I unwrapped a few inches of harness down from the ecu connector and then used a crimp to make the connection. My advice would be to remove some of the tape from the harness and double check the wiring.

Aside from that, you cant easily diagnose your wiring without a multimeter. I don't have any real tools here in the city, so I can't help you with that, but if there's anything else you need let me know. Maybe try posting in the regional forum and try to borrow one from soneone around here?

good! Did you just intstall it? The car will need to be driven around for the ECU to adjust fuel trim. That won't happen unless the car is fully warmed and you've driven a few miles at higher engine speeds.

ALSO, fwiw, my chip was labeled for 19# injectors on the sticker.

Ok, I checked volt at AFM harmess and I have the 12.4 that is required, confirmed my chip is for a 173, and in the correct direction. The car starts, but idles and runs something awful. My only thought at this point is the chip I was sent if for stock injectors. So I emailed Brody to find out more.
But, if anyone near Richmond is looking to do the swap let me know. I can tell you everything not to do.

                    Disregard previous post!
The car is running perfect now.
I was using the chip in an ECU I bought off here because I wanted a spare. When I put the chip into the ECU I had been running everything worked perfectly.
If anyone wants a broken/ bad ECU let me know I only paid $50 for it.
