Rear end you should be fine with a 3.73 LSD if you got one already or lower 3.15 if you like to do a lot of highway blasts. And stock gasket will be fine on 15psi if you've got a solid tune. But arp head studs are a must have. And get a good clutch if your push anymore than 220whp then the stock will just disintegrate.

These are some of the things you could do now before you actually turbo your car. Info on the actual turbo parts like turbos, manifolds, intercoolers etc. can all be found in the writeups on the e30tech forum have a good read on there their are a lot of turbo gurus down there. I myself have learnt a lot over there in a short space if time. You need to do more research what we are telling you here is only some of the things you need to know. Once you read a project thread and see all the obstacles these guys face to get their cars running right it shows that this is not an overnight job and it takes time and patience. There are many ways to go about this its up to you to decide where will you spend the money and where will you try and save.

For some reason it wont let me post on e30tech ive been a memeber for a while and it always says i dont have permission idk what the deal is. but thanks for the advice i will be doing much more reseach before i start the build i was just trying to get an idea on where i should head with the project. thank you for the info and the advice!

let alone if your pulling the head welding the coolant channels also helps with clamping forces

metric blues are still good for around 15psi. havent been fully documented above 15psi.

then again it really depends on the turbo as flow rate is what comes out of the turbo. a 12g turbo pushes less air then a 6262 at the same "15 psi"

    ITS ALL IN THE TUNE!!!!

i will the just with ARP head studs =). so your against stock ECU and rrfpr. so what do you recomend?

dont have one to be honest. im about to get a second job just to have more money for this build Also i will joining the marines (reserves at first). so that will add more money. I dont have any bills except i car insurance and gas. and i also try to give my dad 100+ dollars a month. In 6 months or so i should have be getting a job at police dispatcher and should tripple my pay for right now. idk how but i always manage to get money. Ill be fine. i have some friends with connections and a pgarage fool of tools the car wont be built over night i mhave much to learn and i have a feeling there will be very expensive mistakes made but it will be fun and worth it. Hopefully my connectionsa will save me some time and make it come togher faster. I have a friend who is coming to weld my cage for me in a few weeks. Its al slowly coming together.

seriosluy? i thought i was looking more at 5k for motor build and nothing else. i mean i ALWAYS try to over estimate to make sure i have enough but shit! sounts good to me! Ive been reading a lot on these 3.0l strokers how well do they hold up to boost or should i just not even bother and stay 2.7 and just built that one up right? im looking for a project not a slap it together with cheap parts thing thats why im asking all these probably very stupid questions lol

i decided to run a 2.7 with the i (885 head), these blocks can handle alot of tq.

the rods have been tested to 600wtg but when you get to this point your going to want to run different pistons.

a 2.7i can run to 400wtq no issues, so the question is how much are you looking for.

theres honestly no need to build the block if your staying below 400wtq.

if you wanna go more then that you might as well run a m52 family since they make more power instead of the m20 restricted head.

the most money should be spent on things in this order from greatest to least.

              -engine management
              -tune
              -injectors
              -turbo
              -turbo manifold
              -wastegate
              -intercooler
              -bov
              -clutch
              -piping/couplers
              -exhaust

great thanks for the info. im also in e30tech right now reading up. I found out when i signed up about 2 years ago i never read the email the makje the account active, im just waiting for a mod to add me to forum. I want 250whp-300whp right off the bat but i want to be able to make much more then that in the long run. from what im reading the stoc block can handle that power no problem. im going to freshen the block up and replace parts with OEM ones becuase i idk what sahpe its all in. Maybe ill just make a solid 300whp or so and like you said when the time comes to go more then that ill just swap in another motor.

Yeah your gonna have to wait to be allowed to post. I got too impatient and just paid for the membership and was allowed to post and pm straight away. I don't post very often on there I just read all the threads and soak it all up. Good luck with your build. I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor, I'm looking for similar power levels to yours or higher.

Great thanks! I saw on e30tech a guy named "MR 325" selling fully build and machined 885 heads. What do you think of those and is that a good route to go? What should i do to the head as far as cams and what not? He said hed build the head to my specs. Also the 885 head is a direct bolt on to the eta block?

Heres the link to his post let me knwo what you guys think

Bolt on yes, but wiring and other items are needed from an i motor.
