Hey guys, my m20 stalls in the morning... if i don't let her warm up really really good she stutters and shuts off. Even going in reverse, the car is a 1990 325i automatic coupe. Can someone help me out? It kind of sucks b/c its been so cold so sometimes i just leave my car running b/c as soon as the car's temp drops i have to warm it all the way up again.... once she's warmed up she drives great tho. Any ideas? Someone had told me it might be the ignition wires???? Thanks

The most likely causes of this are intake leaks and a sticky ICV. Remove the ICV and clean it with carb cleaner until the vane moves freely. Take the car to a shop and have a smoke test run and fix the leaks it turn up. There are other possibilities, but there is no point in pursuing those until there are no intake leaks. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

2 days old, I know. But the AFM is also distinct possibility.
Before I switched to the MAF, the flapper in my AFM would scrape against the bottom when it was below 40 degrees. Causing it to get stuck. Once it was warm and the whole body of it expanded, it was fine.
It's also REALLY easy to check. Bring your MAF in when you park it for the night. When you go out in the morning to drive it. Reinstall it. You'll find out quick enough if that's the culprit.
Or just see if it's sticking when cold... That works too.
