I replaced the head gasket and had the head rebuilt. Put it all together. Ran great. There was a valve noise high around 4700rpm to redline. Nothing loud. I figured it was the new valve seats. I went out for coffee this morning and on the way home I gunned it and now I have this noise. I pulled to cover and adjusted the valves. This was taped after adjusting them. It sounds like cyl 1 or 2.

the noise sound like it is coming from the intake or injector of cyl t or 2 the noise and then stops and everything sounds good and then starts again like it is bouncing randomly. I pulled to plugs and the look fine no damage. I am trying to rotate it and peek in the spark plud hole to see TDC of every cyl. What about the oil pump? The light came on the other morning after driving it cold. It freezes now and I have 20-50 in it.

That doesn't exactly sound like valves. While nothing beats hearing the noise first hand, my immediate suspicion is a rod bearing. Put an automotive stethoscope on the bottom of the engine and see if the noise is louder there.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I got a comp gauge on it Cyl 1 0psi #2 0psi #3 0 psi The rental gauge is junk plugged my finger on the adapter and found good pressure on all all cylinders I will have to get a new guage in the morning to get an accurate read. But I am guessing that damage would be noted on the top end by a noticable lack of compression in one of the suspected cylinders. I am leaning toward a bad rod bearing.

I have managed to take the motor apart. Looks like the issue is in cylinder 1.
Spun bearing. The oil pan is loaded with shiny bits of bearing. I need to mic the crank does anyone have specs of the rod and main Also The piston was slapping the head. Is this going to be a huge issue. Should I be looking for a new rotating asembly

The specs for the crank journals are in the Bentley. Take the crank to a machine shop and have them check it unless you have 10th reading micrometers. The piston was kissing the head, but unless that resulted in upset of the metal it will be okay. Measuring the top diameter of the piston at several points will tell if there was upset.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
