Airbox outlet size

I'm looking at getting a miller 3" maf and retaining the stock airbox. Their adapter works with a 2.7" but I'd like to go with a 3".

If someone has a m20 airbox lying around could you measure if its possible to cut a 3" hole and put a tube in (the outlet side to the afm/maf). See pic.
