I had the exact same on mine, that and the other downpipe broke at the flange. Sounded like a big old V8

I'm not sure why people think huge exhaust leaks sound like a V8...

You'll have to replace that downpipe, no real way to fix that without it breaking again.

if your car sounded like a V8 it was probably due to a vacuum leak not an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks make ticking noises that sound like really poorly adjusted valves.
