    lets talk about .006" and .008"

    is this too much for a cold adjustment?
    would i be in burnt valve country here?

    why not just adjust to the factory standard of 0.010"?

      Lol. It might not even start. .008 or .009 is alright though

        i like to to make the adjustment dead cold. cold is consistent. warm, well, not so much because when you open the cover up it could cool down by the time you get to the last set of valves. this has been my gathering after some asking around from local mechanics.

        i've never tried to go below .010 so i can't say in those terms.

          the smallest you should go cold is .009". below that and you'll start burning the valves. + you wont pass smog with less than .009"

          use thicker oil to quiet that car's engine.

            If the head is in good condition, cold setting of 0.006" intake and 0.008" exhaust won't cause burnt valves or difficulty in starting. Those are what I use on my Spec E30 engine, but I know for a fact that everything in the head is as close to being perfect as is possible. I wouldn't use those settings on a head with 100k on it, but it is fine on a fresh head.

              yeah thats kinda what I figured, i guess .008 intake and .010 for my tired motor
