Wanted to ask about a few other things.

Have you tested the ignition coil? Any loss here should certainly kill both engine and tach.

Have you checked for a voltage spike? Curious if voltage regulator is acting up. Too low or too high voltage can cause weird stuff to happen.

While fuel related issues sounded out of the realm of possibility, have you tested the fuel pressure regulator? Fuel pump? Filter? Dirty gas with particles clogging things up would have a similar effect.

Bad coil will cause the engine to die, but would not cause the tach to drop. The DME gets the RPM signal from the CPS sensor, not the coil.

I know its charging correctly, and i do not believe a voltage spike is causing any issues. As seen by when i had LED's connected to the DME, they remained steady when these events would occur.

FPR is new, but i replaced it for the fact that it was old, knowing it would not fix this issue. If engine was loosing fuel it would die, but tach would remain steady.

Gonna get a good used from Mr 325 gave me a great price

Did you check the C191 connector under the intake manifold?

Check under the rubber boots for any corrosion.

Common area that can cause a lot of random problems, lots of info if you search here or google.

Ever since I've cleaned the connector nearest the fuse box... wasn't even bad but figure what the hell...she hasn't cut out

:( I've had a similar issue from time to time but never paid much attention to it because it only happened once every month or two (daily driver).

Now it's turned into a problem because it happened today but the motor just shut off going down the street no weird noise or nothing and now it just cranks. Had to have it towed ftl maybe time for m50?

                      fixed?

BUMP! FLG did you ever get the problem resolved? anyone else?

my car cuts out as described by everyone else when I run over the turtles going 60mph+ on the freeway changing lanes, and also when I am punching it an hit 6000 rpm. Does not happen every time with either of these scenarios, but happens much more frequently changing lanes than punching it.

new high pressure fuel pump, ignition system, o2 sensor, timing belt, balancer looked good, new head gasket, 173 ECU chipped, all new belts blah blah blah. will clean the ground and breaker tomorrow but doesn't sound like that is the issue from what i have read.
most important rule of mechanics learned- if you can't get the job done, make sure your not being a wuss before doing anything else
