    Oil Leak from B*tch Tube

The bottom part of my bitch tube is leaking mad amounts of oil. Whats the most time-effective & cost-effective method to fix this. I know I could take off the intake manifold to fix it but is there any other way? I'm assuming I have to replace the O-rings.

you can compress the spring with a zip tie, then lift the tube up with the washer to expose the seal. then clean the area real good and dab some high temp silicon on it and let it sit overnight.

      nothin fancy

      Its cake!

      Just remove the Manifold.

      Remove the tube,

      Replace the O-rings

Use zip ties to compress the spring

put the mani back on, replace the gaskets if you can

cut the zip ties to deploy the spring

      Torque away!

      The bentley or haynes helps

Man... Zip Ties... How did I not think of that. I just rebuilt my first M20, and that tube was one of the biggest pain in the asses on that entire rebuild.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

I just found a nice thread using my own link above :)

I'm sick of people saying this tube is difficult! IT'S NOT.

I know what are these guys on about. I didn't even use cable ties. Off by hand in 2 minutes.

Looks like my washer is MIA. Im going to have to order the washer, the o-rings and the gasket for the intake manifold.
