    Squeak/Screech Sound w/ two videos.

Ok so I know I have a slight oil leak in my head gasket....Coolant has a light brown tinge to it but it still mostly coolant. Once I detected that, it has only been cranked over twice and is sitting in my garage.

What prompted me to check some stuff out what this noise. I adjusted my valves properly/improperly not too long ago and the louder tapping came back again est 50 miles later so I know I have a worn head...maybe its time to replace it

The noise I hear is a squeaking coming from the timing belt cover area....maybe the water pump area. It used to go away once warmed up but the first few days it went away once warm/driven a few miles. Now I dont have the guts to drive it and have only let it idle twice...as it stopped going away.

I have a feeling its the timing belt tensioner, or maybe the water pump...thats I JUST replaced with a full metal pump maybe 2k miles ago....

Listen to these videos and give me an opinion...

Im about to order a new head and replace the gasket and all new rubber but I heard from an outside opinion that I may have some bottom end problems and I will not be sinking any money into the motor until I know for sure. I started doing the odds and ends like tail light gaskets, door handles, just getting the car right and now this!...Please r3v help!

Before my very last oil change I was getting pressure lights, didn't put in my new oil pressure switch but the oil change made it go away....idk if that helps

I was | | this close to sinking serious money into the head, all new rubber, injectors, a tune, and what ever else Im forgetting....now im sad face.

No one is going to be able to diagnose that noise from a video. A bit of time with an automotive stethoscope will reveal where the noise originates and thus the probable cause. If you can't tell where the noise is coming from, have a pro figure it out.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

that's my major problem...Im almost positive that I have zero shops in the area that are good with e30s..even though its a simple 12v motor.....

Unless someone can point me to a shop Im going to have to rely on a friend who is good with e30s and 24v swaps....hopefully he can tell...

I guess the best question to ask would be....would that type of noise come from a bottom end issue at all?

A good tech can find the source of the noise whether they know anything about an E30 or not. Once the source has been identified further investigation will reveal the cause.

That noise is probably not from the bottom end of the motor.

Sounds like belt or pulley noise to me. Maybe try removing belts one at a time till it disappears? Could be alternator, A/C compressor...

I really think its either the water pump or tbelt tensioner definately on the drive belt....

Im just gonna have to spend some time on it and stop being lazy

maybe just getting my panties in a bunch......Im just paranoid about the motor lol...I loveeee this car

I'm really on the edge about buying a rebuilt head from mr 325 with a cam and just replace my worn one....I know for sure the head needs work but how much is the question....

The deal you get from mr 325 is reallyyy tempting, checked/decked, rebuilt all the way through, reground cam to your spec, 3 angle valve job, ported and polished, and ie hd rockers sounds really nice....

                  any input on that idea?
