    17lb injectors

so i hear there an upgrade. my question is, what will they do for an eta with a chip in in it? are they worth it? will it be noticable? what else if anything will i also have to do if i go for them?

without a chip for 17lb injectors it should do almost nothing. other than new injectors run better than old ones.

If you have a source for a eta chip with 17 or 19 lb injectors could you share it?

i just have an ebay chip and was wondering if it would be worth investing in a set of remanufactured 17 lb injectors.

you might see better economy but you're not gonna see any more power from a b27 with them.

They will not work in the Eta. The Eta uses low impedance 19lb injectors.

i have never personally seen a chip advertised as made for an eta with 17 or 19 lb injectors.

So first find that chip, then the question becomes more important....

Ya well is it a problem of fuel pressure making a wave and your wussy injectors just not letting it through?

I do not own an eta so only take my info as a start to your own research.

But in 1988, to increase the hp of the eta they didnt chip it. They got the 325i dme, and the 325i injectors.

And thats where you go with that, you put the dme from a 325 I in it and you make a super eta. and then you chip that, and you get new injectors for that.

Ignore this stamar guy, he never makes any sense.

You're correct, those are the best mods for the Eta. Anything else is really a waste of money.

You are right the super eta does not have the dme of the i engine. I forgot where I saw that.

But I never have had an eta. I did look at all the chips available recently. They have super eta chips, and those can have bigger injectors.

                          i was definitely right.

The super ETA can have upgraded injectors and chips.

it does have the dme of the I engine, and the injectors and the head. You need some parts of the I engine to upgrade that.

I assume you do not have a super eta?

                          go ahead to http://www.strictlyeta.net/technical/differences2.html

Definitely experts on that one. Theres lots of performance mods there but Im not sure they meet your standard of cheap.

i know i can upgrade by doing mods to bring it up to super eta or even 2.7i status. i was just looking for something other than the ecu chip and the diff w/o changing heads. don't worry, it's cool. i luv my es to death. it's much perkier than it was w/ tock chip and diff. that 3.25 makes all the difference. and i still get 28 mpg at 75 mph. which is good when i'm goin 100 a day to work and back.
