    first modifications

Hello guys, my name is Matt and i own a bone stock 88 325i(european) with a couple of mtech goodies. I want to start modificating the engine and have a couple of questions.

First i would like to start with a ka motors cai.
My question is: is this the only other part i need to make the kit work ?

And also wich chip, injectors and 272 cam will work the best with this setup ?
And would i have to make any other mods to make the cam work properly ?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the many questions,
    cheers
    Matt

Hello. Good choice to go with the KAMotors intake. I have one on both of my cars. To answer you 1st question...Yes that is all you need to make the kit work. Now, for your other questions I am not really a good person to answer those for you, but most ppl on here swear by the Mark D chip. I'm sure some others will add to this...

Welcome, good luck, an have fun.

Mark D chip is nice, or there's the Miller MAF setup (which includes a chip) if you don't need the war chip (the selling point of the war chip is that it's programmable, which is not what everybody needs).

Cam (the IE 272 billets won't be back in stock until May), 17lb injectors, intake..... that'll be a good formula unless you start spending some serious money.

      Welcome...

I have some more questions guys. I was looking at the mark d chip and i was wondering if the 93 octane chip would make a big difference in my car since in entire europe the lowest octane is 95, and the standard ecu might be different from the US model one?

And also how difficult is the 17lb injector swap ? Is it bolt on and hassle free ?

            Thanks in advance,
            Matt

The Miller MAF with Kamotors intake combo really wakes up the E30, much more than just a chip will. The car will start better, idle better, and pull better. Also swapping injectors can be done in around 45minutes if you have skinny fingers. If you've got stubby fingers you may have to remove the valve cover to reach them.

North America and Europe measure octane differently. 95 octane in europe is I believe 87 octane in NA (or something like that). 93 octane here is basically the top quality pump gas. You should do some extra research on the subject, I don't know the specifics
