    Rocker shaft ?'s

So i recently did a head, timing belt, water pump ETC to my M20 car. Got it all back together and was doing a final shake down and my rocker arms keep sliding out of place. The clips dont seem to lock in place like they should. Is it possible to get the rocker shafts mixed up?? Cause everything is there just when i do clip the Rocker arms in, they arent lined up with the valve stems at all.. :loco:

    Any help would be great

    Thanks-
    Calvin

Yes it is possible to put them in wrong. Look at the notches on the end and the spacing you need to line up with the valves. Hold the shaft up to the head and you should be able to see which way it needs to go.

do you have the part that prevents the rocker shafts from spinning installed?

I cant find a photo of it.

#6 is there.. the shafts arent spinning. Just whenever i lock the clips (#12) into the shafts the rockers are way off the valve stem. So maybe the shafts are in backwards?
