I have an eta motor with a new head out af a totaled car. the car ran just fine before it got totaled. what are some options to make hopefully around 200bhp. id prefer NA.

Upgrade the valve springs to either m20b25, or get new ones from bmp with the lighter valvetrain components. Port the intake and exhaust ports. Get a 274 to 282 camshaft. Loose all the eta fuel injection parts and upgrade to megasquirt or a newer motronic system, upgrade the fuel injectors and fpr. Get 325i intake manifold, m30 afm or map sensor with MS. Headers and full 2.5 inch exhaust, lightened single mass flywheel and a 3.73 differential.
You won't get 200 hp, but it will be quick. Your probably looking around 170 crank with that setup.
If you want 200 hp, sell and get an m/s50 24 valve motor.Old and improved:

yeah 170hp sounds about right, what you need to look at especially is the torque the motor will make and at the rpm. I figure around 205lb ft at 2700-3200rpmComment
