    Valve Cover to throttle body (eta?)

    What does this hose do exactly?

    That hose is the crank case breather.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      can I some how bypass that vacuum line or is it essential?

        Don't bypass anything. If the hose is bad replace it.

          You can eliminate that hose by plugging the port in the throttle body and running a hose from the valve cover to a catch can.
