Oil in the intake and fouled plugs

I'm just going to start this to document my problems that I'm having with this.

2 days ago was running a little rough with some slight hesitation under load and cruising. Thought it might be the coolant temp sensor checked it out of spec, so order a replacement along with a new breather tube and intake boot (both have been cracked for sometime).

Parts arrived today when I removed the take boot here was a pretty good amount of oil in the bottom of the throttle body. So I decided to go ahead and pull the plugs. #1 was fouled close 2-5 with various amounts of oil fouling but not actually wet like 1 and 6 was only slightly better off than 1. (I'll get some pics of these when I get the new plugs)

Pulled the vacuum plate off the back of the manifold also full of oil. And the breather tube was also full of oil though not clogged shut.

    The plan right now:
    1. New plugs and seafoam to clean up the current mess.
    2. Leak down/compression test to see if its the rings or worse
    3. ???
    4. Profit

    Anyone have similar problems?

Generally due to design, you will always get oil in the intake...seems as though you have a bit too much oil.

Do a leakdown/compression test and see where your at.

valve guides and piston rings, i replaced my head with a rebuilt unit and greatly reduced the oil i had in my intake (my round intake-adapted filter was soaked!) i now run on the stock airbox and the new head, i have noticed a great reduction in consumption as well as oil in the intake.

when i took my engine apart, my rings were bad.. I know i need a new engine soon! (s52 ob1!)

This engine has only been in the car for less then a year though it did sit for close to a year. I was put in by a good local shop it is believed to have ~100k miles on it when installed.

i can't believe what people say mileage is on anything, (parts, cars, engines)... its never the truth.

Even a low mileage engine is not exempt to having internal issues.

              ^^This

I would much rather have a higher mileage engine maintained by someone who knows what they're doing vs. a "ultra low original mileage!!111" engine (not)maintained by a complete jackass.

Mileage can be a useful tool in indicating the condition of a car mechanically but should not be treated as fool proof. Especially on a 20+ year old car whose cluster is so easily swapped ;)

Update the car sat for well over a year with the new engine it has 5k miles since the install.

Compression test: done dry per bentley manual though with the oil in there it may have been a bit wet. Also some white smoke while running it up to warm up temp.

I have pics of the plugs but that will have to way (drill weekend plus the broad st. 10 miler)

More updates: leak down was under 15% for the oily cyinders. Replace plugs with Denso iridium ones because its almost impossible to oil foul them. Runs fine minus a very high idle at 1500 rpm. The new breather tube had zero oil in it but the was still some on the plugs in 1 and 6.

                  I'm stumped thoughts?
