Can't get Motor/tranny mounts to line up. Engine to far forward.

So I was putting in some of Silence's Motor and trans mounts and could get the old motor mount out orginally. I undid the trans mounts to give me more room to jack up the engine.

Now that I have all the old mounts out and new one in place, I can't get them to line up. the engine and trans are about an 1 1/2" to far forward.

What's the best way to get the engine pushed back to get everything to line up?

I tried jacking it in different places on the oil pan (using some 2x6's of course) and even tried jacking up the trans at the same time as well. Didn't seem to get me any closer.

    Any ideas?????????

jack up the engine and roll the car forward...

not too sure without lifiting up the engine with a hoist.

That's interesting you had so much trouble with it. I would try unbolting the driveshaft from the transmission and then try installing the mounts.

Thanks for the suggestions, I do appreciate it. Ended up using a racketing tie down strap. That's all I could find in my garage and it worked beautifully.
