    Diagnostic port cover.....

    What the hell does it do? I figured out that my stalling and bucking issues are resolved when I take the cap off the DLC in my car. I have an 87 325ic. I have searched all over the internet and cant seem to find a thing about it.....

    Please help!!!!!

      Its a shorting plug.

      As for what it tells Motronic to do, good question. I don't know if anybody knows. First I have heard of it making a significant difference in the car though.

          I have noticed that it has no balls on acceleration from a stop. On the highway, it has great attitude. I did just install a new TPS, maybe that is why no balls, improper adjustment. I was told the cap helps with timing adjustment, hell if I know. I don't know how it advances or retards the timing on this engine.
