Heads from other cars that fit the M20?

The porsche 928 motor is actually 2 944 blocks put together with their own heads, and each bank of cylinders is controlled "separately". You could actually go as far as putting 944 turbo heads on a 928 block to lower your compression for forced induction.

IIRC, someone mentioned that the motor from the 850 is like 2 M20 motors put together. So.. I was thinking it would be cool if the 850 heads were DOHC/4v and maybe it would be possible to put them on an M20 block (with lots of custom fabbing for the timing).... but alas, they appear to be SOHC heads (or so autotrader says). Are 850 heads identical to M20 heads, or do they have any improvments?

They are all SOHC heads that are setup for a timing chain rather than belt. If anything, the V12 is a little less efficient than an M20. A good porting job on an M20 head would give better results with a lot less cost and effort.

The V12 heads are VERY different then a m20 head.

The intake port size looks to be the same size as the eta head, rather then the i head. The intake runners are very nice and long though, shame they are again the small ports, and the bolt pattern on them is flipped so they wont mate to a m20 head.
