    M20 missing sporadically

I can be driving along and it losses power. I put my foot on the gas and nothing happens. The car idles, it wont stall but when you try to accelerate nothing happens. After some time passes maybe a few minutes everything is back to normal and you can drive away. When this happens the check engine light comes on. The check engine light will go off on its own after awhile. The gas filter has been changed and some gas line anti freeze has been added just in case water got in the system. The car ran the first month or so no problem it has only been the last week it has been an issue. It also does it sporadically. Any thoughts. ??

    thanks.

The first thing I'd do would be to tee in a fuel pressure gauge, zip tie it to a windshield washer arm, and see what the fuel pressure is when the engine misbehaves.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

^^^^this, as well, check your distributor cap and rotor, make sure your injectors are all functioning well (and are CLEAN, surprisingly clean injectors are a huge benefit to most motors....)
