    Driving with cracked exhaust manifold?

I'm pretty sure my manifold is cracked, its terribly loud. Is there any harm in driving the car like this? It seems to run just as smoothly as before, it is just VERY loud.

Other than potentially killing the O2 sensor, which I already have a replacement for, any downside to keep driving it?

Ok, i understand it is fixable, but I don't have time until the weekend. Am I going to harm the car by driving it with, essentially, an open exhaust?

It should be ok, for a bit anyway. Get a new O2 sensor and find an exhaust manifold quickly the engine doesn't like to kick out straight exhaust. It might also hurt the cat but that's about it. I run a auto shop and we usually suggest a Midas to see if they can weld it quickly their work generally holds well.

Did you let the JB weld cure overnight before driving? Once cured it should not smell badly.

False alarm, the manifold was not cracked. A weld came apart, and had it fixed today.

              Thanks for the help anyways

My sunfire exhaust broke just past the o2 sensor at a flex joint. I drove it like that for a year. Was good fun scaring the shit out of hipsters. Quietish till you hit 3k rpm and then it sounded like a freight train driving by. Ahhhh memories.
