    Aluminum Radiators-Thicker than standard

    Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone runs an Aluminum Rad with a core thicker than that of the standard m20 rad?

I'm Looking to put a decent Aluminum Rad in mine and was glancing at the 'race sized' one the IE is selling (http://www.iemotorsport.com/bmw/E30-...30alumrad.html) any thoughts?

Im still mostly set on a mishimoto but just want to hear if theres any other alternatives....

No, you didn't do anything wrong.

I was just suggesting that you look at the Mishimoto brand aluminum radiator, unless you saw it already.

Mishimoto is what i had in mind and im 90% sure its the one ill end up running,

I just wanted to know if there's any one running a Ireland engineering 'racing size' unit or any other thicker than standard core radiator...

Mishimoto might make an m coupe radiator that could "fit" an e30

i think you can make the e36 mishimoto radiators fit. do you have a link to e30 mishimoto ones? i didnt know they made a specific e30 one.

im running a mishimoto e36 rad and i love it...fitment is good too (no need to modify anything)

but anything is better than that 20 some odd year old rad i had in. it had a bunch of gunk build up at the bottom of mine

I have a CXRacing Aluminum rad in my car ($165.00) and very happy with the product. I am not sure if they make rad for '87 or older cars though.

Did M coupe radiators have thicker cores than the one that came out on M3's?

yes about 3/4in more. I dont advise this rad for M/S50/52 swaps as it already gets very tight up there but it still may fit

Does it have the same mounting points as on an e36?

The general consensus in the E36 world is that the S54 MZ3 radiator should be better than the Mishimoto. And more reliable.
