    87 325e cps help

I am thinking of replacing my cps as I had some weird intermittent issues and it seems like a good first start on these cars. I am confused on mine is it on the bellhousing or the motor? How hard it is to change?

On my 87is it's just the 1 sensor on the front of the engine down by the ac compressor. It was 1 or 2 hex bolts on the sensor and that was all. 15 minutes total maybe to change out.

2 crank sensors means no pulse cable on the ignition wires. 1 crank sensor means it uses the pulse wire cables. As for your first question, they're on the underside of the bellhousing, on the driver's side. They should be secured with a 5mm Allen bolt, and the wires go up to just in front of the starter.

I do not have the pulse cable on the coil that is why i was confused just checking. Both are on the drivers side bottom of the bell housing? Can it be done just jacking up the car and not having to remove anything special?

Only thing that would need to be removed is the intake boot, to get at the connectors.
