    School me on fuel injectors

I'm installing a performance head my "Myster-e" on my '89 325is this upcoming weekend. Along with it, I'm installing 19# fuel injectors. I've searched and searched but have not come across a decent DIY write-up for fuel injector replacement. Does one exist? I'm also wondering if I will need an adjustable FPR to increase the flow to the injectors. I have a chip installed and I'm wondering if this would this be adequate for the injectors as well.

A little pertinent information about the car:

    M20 (180,xxx on the odo)
    conforti chip
    K&N intake with heat shield
    Upgraded plug wires
    New oem plugs
    Supersprint catback
(MAF with WAR chip and longtube headers coming soon)

If you install 19lb injectors you will need a chip tuned for those. Otherwise the engine will be running really rich.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Installing the injectors is very straightforward. Especially if you have the manifold off of the head already to do the head swap. Take them out, put new ones in. It's just that simple.

The FPR is completely unnecessary, what is necessary is the chip or tune though. Because you have a WAR chip coming, that will be good as they have 19lb tunes available for download right in the WAR software.

So the conforti chip won't be adequate? Looks like Miller will be getting some cash for me sooner than expected.

Unless the chip states it's tuned for 19lb injectors, nope.

I mean, you could use an adj. FPR to dial down the pressure a tad so that it would match the 14lb injectors for fuel flow and the ECU might be able to compensate the duty cycle to match it up. But it's a bigger headache than it's worth.

I talked with the guys over at Miller. Apparently I can get away with the MAF conversion alone as it comes with software that will work with the 19# injectors. However, the war chip will allow me to take better advantage of the mods. Right now I'm thinking I might as well do it right and get both. Time to put on my $ scraping shoes and get to work.
