help no tach in 1987 325e with 2.7 stroker

i have a 1987 325e with a built 2.7 stroker and an I cluster was installed in my car.i have no working tach or econometer i have put in a know working cluster so i know its not that. so im trying to figure out this tach situation and ive found that i need to run a wire from pin #9 tach/signal to the black wire on my c104 connector in the glovebox.. BUT on my c101 pin#9 is empty. no wires are in the connector for pin 9. now on the 88 pinout there is the black tach wire that i need to splice my c104 into. http://ebookbrowse.com/early-late-e3...xls-d135243946 note here that 87 #9 is empy and 88 has the black tach wire, but no where in the 87 connector does it state tach signal at all, so what am i supposed to use to give that pulse signal? ive done my research and drawn a blank, so now i need your help.. please R3v help me out

i heard if you use a 87 I harness you don't need any modification, just plug and play
Bought parts from me before? leave your feedback here

You will need to modify the engine harness by splicing into the tach & econometer wires and running them to C104. See http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm for identification of the wires in the DME connector.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
