    Water Pump Question

    Hey,

I just put an 87 m20 into my 89 e30 and little did I know that the 87's and earlier uses a dual outlet water pump. So my question is where does the second outlet go? is there a way around it?

    Thanks,
    achow

The best and easiest fix for this is to change the pump to the later style. You'll need to grab the cross over pipe of the 89 engine and use the cooling system hoses for an 89 (get all new ones).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        Thanks for the quick reply,

I have all the hoses from my 89 m20 so I can switch it over pretty easily but I don't want to cut corners on the project so is it a risk not running that 2nd hose? restricting flow?

        Thanks,

You need the later pump, period.
