    oil pump woes

Back in May my oil pump went bad and I replaced with one I had on another motor. The new pump worked well for the past three weeks and now I'm having the same symptoms. Loss of pressure at idle once the engine is warm and I have aluminum in my oil. Oil looks silver. I always keep my oil full and i change it regularly. I use rotella 15w40. Any ideas why it is eating oil pumps?

i took apart the first pump and it was scored heavily, especially the bottom plate. I'll be pulling the pan and dropping a main cap to check this time.

That isn't aluminum, it is bearing material. Don't bother to pull the pan. Pull the engine and rebuild it or replace it.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
