M20 Idling around 1200-1500 RPM all the time

Is my ICV bad? All of the rubber boots were replaced in the intake system a few years ago and I don't see any cracks. Occasionally, the idle drops like the car wants to stall but it bounces back up right after that.

The error code being thrown is 1262 - Idle speed actuator.

This problem started about 2 weeks ago. The car (1989 325iA) used to idle buttery smooth before then.

Some electrical problem with the ICV.

Other than that, did you make sure your TPS is adjusted correctly?

That too but I think the ECU would give you an A/F ratio type of code.
Not a problem with the ICV circuit.

That code would indicate a problem with the ICV or it's wiring.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yeah but a small vac leak that raises idle a few hundred rpm could be negligible under normal driving. if you're not having any other problems with idle Im fairly positive its a vac leak.
