Anyone have a spare M20 MLS head gasket at 098" thickness?

    Hi guys,

I have decided things are a little too close for comfort in regards to piston the valve clearance on my stroker build, so before I order one of these (they have to make it) has anyone got one they could send down to Australia?

    Cometic Part number is C4394-098

    Cheers.

How much clearance between the valves and pistons do you have? Put a layer of modeling clay over the valve relief cuts in the pistons, mount the head with a normal gasket, only tighten the head bolts to the initial 22ft-lbs of torque, and rotate the engine through two revolutions. The pull the head and measure the thickness of the thinest part of the valve marks to find the clearance.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yeah measured it already, that's why I need this gasket.

Using a +.3mm OEM gasket, this is the readings:

      1.2mm or .047" on intake.

      2mm on exhaust.

Not enough..... Also piston to head clearance is too close.

It's all due to my head being machined to many times, and is now undersized. And a high lift Dbilas 276 cam.

Yep, the exhaust valves are borderline and the intakes are too tight. You will have to use a thicker gasket.

Cheers thanks for the confirmation. Not what I really want to hear but better than some snapped valves and a big mess inside, and a tow truck..... the key to this modification game is patience and money
