Rev drops very slowly in neutral or in gear

After driving around for a bit today, I noticed that the car developed a rev hang issue. When in neutral, if I rev the engine, the revs would drop very slowly. If in gear, I noticed that the car would drop speed much slower. Everything was fine earlier today. Could a bad ICV cause this problem? The reason I ask is that my idle has been a bit more "lumpy" lately.

    thanks,

Check for vacuum first. I had a similar issue and it ended up being the hose to the top of the valve cover (it had no clamp). After it would warm up, the hose would get soft and allow an air leak. Double check all the clamps and wiggle the hoses to make sure they are solid. The next step would be to check the air intake hose (the ribbed one) to make sure it's not cracked. Then you can pull the ICV at the same time and clean it.

Hopefully it's just a loose hose clamp (free), although a new air intake hose is cheap on Pelican (less than $25 probably). The ICV is pricey and buying a used one could set you up for the same issue anyway.

Intake leaks will do this. Also clean the IVC and make sure that the throttle or cable isn't binding.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
