M20 w/distributor puzzle??

What BMW's came with 2.7 M20 w/dizzy and a carb?

Got a project 73 2002 that had one of these already transplanted
into the car when I got it. Prior owner then also put on a Holly 390
4bbl carb. This is mated to a 4sp trans, with no mech speedometer
cable hookup that I can find...

As far as i can tell, motor was never fuel injected.

Am trying to figure out what year/series this might be out of,
so can get Pertronix or at least right cap/points should it need
them. Could this be an early e21 323i motor?

New to m20's, and any help/advice would be appreciated.

It's either out of o E21 chassis 320/6 (2 liter) or E21 chassis 323 (2.3 Liter). Both had distributors but i am pretty sure they are electronic from the factory so no internal wear items or need for an electronic conversion.

The 320/6 is the one that would have a carb from the factory, although people have been known to put the carb/manifold on other M20 engines.
