problem with e to i swap

i connected everything and once i connected the ecu to the harness my SI board lights oil pressure light and brake lining light are on and fuel pump is not turning on.

the car cranks but its not receiving fuel the harness adapter i made is wired up exactly how the diagram shows for the square to round c101 plug.

now where do i start could it be a fuse a relay or what causing my warning lights to stay on even with the key out of the ignition when the harness is plugged into the ecu.

Correction I am not getting fuel or spark and I can't find the proper wires to hook up c104 the harness appears to from an 86 with 1.1 but I am using a 173 dme for 1.3

      check your cps

ok so i checked the cps also the reference sensor on the spark plug wires and also checked that they were plugged in properly the problem i think is the fact that i cant figure out which wires i need to splice my c104 into to allow fuel and spark as well as to get the tach working too.

        picture of harness

picture of secondary problem with cluster constantly having power

as you can see my dash lights are on with the key in the off position they only turn off when i disconnect the harness from the ecu

The lights in the cluster being on when the ignition is off a problem with have you wired up C101.

The no spark or fuel is probably a missing START signal to the DME. See http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=261009

i followed the diagram on this thread to the T on wiring the c101

cant seem to figure out how to open the connector for the DME to find the proper pins and wires to connect the c104

well i found the correct pins for c104 on the new harness and suprisingly it should be plug and play but when i plugged it in the car just cranked no tach signal no nothing so im thinking im gonna have to cut and splice it to make it work but for the c104 on the harness its an early 87 harness i just found out.

the first pin on the harness c104 is black/blue and leads to pin 6 on dme connector
second pin is green and leads to pin 27 on dme
third pin is white and leads to pin 32 on dme

everything maps out correctly so it should run but it doesnt.

Does the main relay close when the ignition is switched on? And if so does the ICV buzz? If the first is true the DME should be powering up. Proof of that would be the ICV vibrating if the idle switch in the TPS is working.

Main relay does not appear to close and the icv doesn't vibrate at all the odd thing is a relay clicks under the dash by the steering column when i plug the dme in which turns the lights on in the dash and it also lights up my e36 window switches

brett, the c107 should just plug right in. All earlys are the same. However because you used a early harness the DME runs power off of that. Double check your adapter. My car started the first try but... im using a 90 harness on a 86 so it was PNP besides the c107 for the tack/obc.

If you hear the relay click when connecting the DME with ignition off, that sounds like power is being applied to the Hot in Run and Start circuit. Which would turn on those lights. There are a few ways that a bad DME could back power the Hot in Run and Start circuit. So my suspicion at this point is that you have a bad DME and I'd try a different one.

i dont have any spare dmes this is the only one i got wasnt expecting a bad dme so didnt buy one from the jy during the 50% weekend
and the tach/obc c104 plugs in just fine but changes nothing like my obc still says 99.9 mpg under avg mpg

Got another ecu same problem gonna put a test light on the coil negative see if its pulsing when cranking to see if its the cps that all test good when checking for resistance

If you have swapped DME's and have the same behavior, go back over the C101 wiring.

Don't worry about the CPS or the coil yet. You have a bigger problem, as witnessed by the lights, that must be dealt with first.
