    b27 over heating.

So I drive home from class. All is fine. Car then goes close to redline on heat. I get home pull inside and it starts smoking. White obviously. I recently took off a hose that ran to the radiatior. Could have this been the culprit? or coincidence and another problem? I will give it a look when it cools down. Coolant was hissing out side of the cap, and the car kept reving to 1.5k rpms.

also no smoke from the tailpipe, only from the coolant spraying inside the hood

Wait, why was coolant spraying the hood?

Check all hoses and gaskets first obviously.

Sounds like you sprouted a leak

It looked like from the cap.

I guess I need to just get a hose and see where it leaks through. I need to check hoses. I recently filled the resivour, and it is now empty from sitting.

filled the resivour. It is not leaking. Upon inspection, the fan belt broke. Does it go around the alternator belt also? Or is that a separate one?

Yes, that also spins the alternator. More importantly your fan belt also happens to be your water pump belt. Your temps pegged cause there wasn't any circulation of coolant in the engine. Check your oil...

So to get a new drive belt on, I am going to have to take the entire fan clutch assembly off? Or can I slide it over that after I take the other belts off?

Just slide it over, you'll have to work it past the shroud and all that but you do not have to remove the fan in order to change the belt.
