    M20 Stroker

    Hey guys,

Already done Schrick 288, MAF/injectors/chip, extractors, high flow cat and a few other odd things.
Pulls close to 200HP ATW right now.

Really looking at spending some big bucks on the M20 soon, I've got in mind stroker then turbo within 24 months of that.

Do people recommend the IE 3.1L stroker kit? I'd be looking at that or the 3L kit.

Eventually I'll be sticking a snail on but thats not for a while after that.. then I'll deal with comp ratio.

    What does r3v think?

If you have in mind to go turbo, then no need for the 3.0L stroker kit which is $$$ unless you want to make a HUGE power!

No real need to build a stroker before turboing except for the bragging rights. That being said, the only difference in the kits is the diameter of the custom pistons, so the kits themselves are pretty much equal. You could definitely piece your own kit together cheaper if you were so inclined, that's the route I went and I feel I have higher quality parts for equal to less money overall.

        Hi Guys,

Just want to stroker it and get nice NA power for the next 12 months or so as I can't legally drive a turbo car here in Australia due to provisional driver laws.

And yes, I wanted to turbo the stroker to get an insane amount of power.

If you'd like I can put you in touch with a good number of Australians running the IE stroker kit.

It can be done for cheaper stateside if you piece it together (not sure on parts availability over there, or shipping costs on multiple boxes from multiple sources), or it can be done more extravagantly and wind up potentially spending unwarranted amounts of money.

Understand if you want to make obscene amounts of power via Turbo down the road then you'll need to budget for a second set of pistons.

There's going to be a different crank used with each kit.

Yes I understand this. I'm probably going to source most of the items from IE.. except for the pistons in which I will buy some custom JE ones to match. 3.1 cranks are impossible to find over here!

Is that on a 2.5 or 2.7 bottom end? 200whp has got to be on a pretty number happy dyno imo....

What kind of money are you looking at spending? I know of an assembled (but not yet run) 3.1L (based on IE kit) with ported 885 head, oversize valves, 288 schrick, M30 TB, sitting with a full exhaust in a garage in brisbane. I also know he is getting desperate to get rid of it...
