325e with I manifold and TB opinions.

Hello all, I have a 86 325e with a ebay chip, cat back ansa exhaust and 3.25 LSD diff, the car runs a bit rich (can smell it in the oil). I was wondering what kind of gains if any would a I manifold and TB swap with a intake would give? I have heard some people saying it will lose torque and not gain much power or not lose torque and have a better top end? What's the real deal here, has anyone actually done it?

Why wouldn't you just do an whole i top end swap?

Because I really don't want to, this is my daily driver.

That might move the torque peak around some, but I don't think there will be an performance gain. The choke point is within the head.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That's how I started with my '87 325e. Ran great with those exact mods (3.73 only exception).

Any significant difference after the manifold and TB?

It pulled past 4,500 to rev-limiter quicker. Down low, no difference.
